Philadelphia, PA - The Royal Boucherie, Old City’s American-influenced brasserie plus raw bar from Top Chef winner, Nicholas Elmi, and Suzanne O’Brien, is delighted to launch "What the Shuck," an entertaining shellfish sampling series with Chef Nicholas Elmi. The series begins Thursday, October 18th, with two seatings – 6 pm and 8 pm.
During this one-of-a-kind interactive experience, Chef Elmi will guide guests thru a six-course shellfish sampling at The Royal Boucherie’s amazing raw bar. The celebrated chef, alongside experienced Oyster Shucker, Jim Hasson, will show off a few of Royal Boucherie’s most well-known raw bar items, in addition to unique exotic shellfish and seafood, such as urchin, scallop as well as surf clam.
“This series is truly a special experience for our guests,” said Nicholas Elmi. “I’m excited to be able to offer shellfish and seafood lovers a front-row seat to oyster shucking and preparation. It doesn’t have to be intimidating – it can be fun! And that’s what we’re going to have during each of these tastings… fun.”
With only six spots available at each seating, this series is a unique opportunity to understand exactly how to shuck and prepare oysters as well as various other shellfish from a top chef. Tickets are $100 and come with four raw bar courses, the main course, plus dessert as well as beer and wine pairings.
The series will resume on Thursday, November 15th in addition to Thursday, December 20th with seating at 6 pm to 8 pm each night.
