Where to Celebrate March Madness and St. Patrick's Day

PhillyBite10Philadelphia, PA - March Madness and St. Patrick's Day celebrations are here once again! So grab some green, or the color of your team, and your best Irish accent to Sláinte the right way!


BeerIconSmallIf you are looking for a place to have some Luck-O-The-Irish and win your pot of gold, stop in at one of the Landmark Americana locations. They are upping the stakes this year and have created their own NCAA Tournament brackets. At each location fans can enter up to two brackets for free, and the 1st and 2nd place winners will receive gift cards to the Landmark Americana where they first entered at the commencement of the tournament. And to further engage in March Madness, their City Line location will have $3 Bacardi products, $10 Coors Light pitchers, and $3 Yuengling pounders during all tournament games. Or if you are looking to visit one of Landmark's locations specifically for Saint Patrick's Day, you can get a head-start on March 16th at their Glassboro NJ location. They will get you ready to celebrate your Irish heritage, or your desire to be Irish, with a Guinness promo all day with Guinness glassware giveaways. And at their City Line and University City locations on March 17th, they have St. Patrick’s Day specials of $4 Guinness, $4 Jameson shots, $4 Green Tea shots, and $6 Irish Car Bombs.

You can continue Marching on with the basketball madness by heading over to Urban Village Brewing Company, located in Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. Urban Village is offering some game day specials which include $3 pints of their brewed-on-site beer and $10 for one of their belly-pleasing pizzas. The brewery will also be showing all the games, and the sound on their 5 large-screen televisions will be on when Villanova is playing.

If you and your friends have to travel to different spots so everyone on your roster wins, you can choose where the best place to gather is thanks to P.J. Whelihan's Restaurant Group. With 21 different locations, all of the P.J. Whelihan’s restaurants will have the March Madness games playing on multiple TVs, so you never have to miss a shot!

To keep your green game going, The Pour House in Westmont, NJ will be at Haddon Square on March 17th for a St. Paddy’s party. The event will run from noon to 10 p.m. With the following drink specials: $6 Smithwick’s & Harp Drafts, $6 Tonewood Fuego, $5 Guinness Draughts, and $5 Miller Lites & Jameson shots.

Also, at Haddon Square will be the Just Fork It Food truck, which will provide some St Paddy’s Day eats all day! Some of the finger-licking foods they offer include Guinness pulled pork sliders with coleslaw and long hots, Fried Chicken cutlet sandwich with provolone, spinach, and red pepper aioli, and they will also have Mac and Cheese Balls, Beer Battered Corn dogs, Irish Totchos, Reuben egg roll, and dessert! And to make the event even more festive, there will be Irish dancers performing at 5 p.m. and DJ Michael Henriquez from 6-10 p.m.

If you are still wondering where else you can go to celebrate, and live on the Jersey side of the bridge, all the Ott’s locations (In Medford, Berlin, and Washington Twp in New Jersey) will be serving $5 Guinness & $5 Green Tea Shots and also have corned beef & cabbage specials. And to make the St. Patrick's Day celebrations even more fun, each location will also have live music! At the Ott’s in Medford, NJ the bands Just One More 3-7pm and Dom & Friends 8:30pm-12:30am will play. If you go to Ott's Greentop in West Berlin, NJ you can drink in the specials while watching IV Stone play between 9:30pm-1:30am. And in the Ott’s Washington Township, NJ location you can sit at the big bar and listen to Say Goodnight Carl 9pm-1am play live or wander to their small bar and enjoy what the DJ has playing.

Braddocks Tavern

If you would like to be more indulgent in your love of all things Irish, Braddock's Tavern in Medford, NJ is offering a special menu available on March 17th. You can sit in a beautiful historical restaurant and enjoy Green Beer, Irish Nachos, Corned Beef and Cabbage with Irish Soda Bread. Then for dessert they have a Bailey's Irish Bread Pudding with Jameson Crème Anglaise.
