Green Thumb sprouts at local Distillery – Mason-Dixon Distillery taps into the hottest culinary trend
Tucked in the back of their historic establishment, located at 331 East Water Street in Gettysburg, stands a piece of land transformed into a thriving garden featuring a variety of seasonal vegetables including salad greens, squash, carrots, peppers, radishes, an heirloom variety of tomatoes and beets along with freshly grown herbs like chocolate spearmint grown especially for their mixed drinks. Nestled along the brick wall behind the garden are multiple varieties of fig trees. Unique to this lush garden, figs are rarely found in Adams County but the brick provides a micro-climate, which help the trees survive the colder winters.

The dynamic duo of Lori Korczyk (Savor Gettysburg Food Tours) and Jayne Shord (Beech Springs Farm) have combined efforts to plant and maintain the plentiful garden at Mason-Dixon Distillery. The garden is a way for the restaurant to increase agricultural awareness and their commitment to sustainability and to ensure patrons that meals at Mason Dixon are prepared with the freshest ingredients possible. The fruits and vegetables harvested from the restaurant's garden will be incorporated daily into their handcrafted menu. Whether growing their own produce and herbs or obtaining fresh products from other local farms, Mason Dixon Distillery provides mouth-watering meals you can feel good about."

Come see for yourself and savor a variety of specialties and experience the fresh flavors of Adams County at its best, you won’t leave disappointed. Mason-Dixon Distillery is located at 331 E. Water Street in the heart of downtown Gettysburg.
