Philadelphia, PACheesesteaks at El Greco Pizza & Punch Buggy Beers - I took a day off from March Cheesesteak Madness to do my regular job and review a cheesesteak. My name is Jim Pappas, and I run a cheesesteak blog, Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure.

Cheesesteaks and Beers

I have eaten, reviewed, and videoed over 1,000 different cheesesteaks in the last four years. In 2018 I moved back to Northern Delaware. My daughters were in college, I had had a 25 Corporate career, and my wife and I separated after 25 years of marriage. There's a better version of that story, but it is much better over a beer and Cheesesteak.

I was rideshare driving to make money while contemplating the meaning of life and other deep thoughts. One Monday morning, I took a break from deep thoughts and met my ex-new best friend. We bonded over fond memories of Claymont Steak Shop.

After a focus group with my next group of rideshare riders, a cheesesteak blog was the next logical stage of my life. I learned how to build a website, make a Facebook page, and open an Instagram account. And of course, Gmail, no blog is official until they have a Gmail account, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Here is Different cheesesteak #1016 in the last four years, El Greco Pizza & Luncheonette. I took my Cheesesteak for a walk down to Punch Buggy brewing. This was a good stop. This was an excellent little Cheesesteak, and I loved my cherry tart beer. I had a friendly chat with a lovely person at both/each El Greco and Puggy Buggy. El Greco had a handwritten sign on the door; 'little two-bedroom house for rent $1200/month.' Does anyone want to be my roommate?

The Cheesesteak; has 8 oz of meat, so it is on the smaller side. I believe that meat is the primary component of a cheesesteak, but this was an excellent roll. It did have a really good 1,000 years of cooking cheesesteaks on the same grill with a meaty taste. The fried onions and mushrooms spent time on the grill with the meat and added a nice flavor.

The cheese was the weak link. I would have liked more cheese and for it to be mixed with the meat better. They gave me a complimentary side of sauce, and I liked it. I did see an 'extra meat' option on the menu. El Greco Pizza & Luchoenette -1500 N 2nd St., Philadelphia, Pa
