As vibrant and diverse as the countries which have lent its tastes to Cuba's cuisine. Beginning with the indigenous island tribes along with the Spaniard's who’s flavors were influenced by the Moors (who controlled large areas of Spain for hundreds of years). However, Cuba's culinary pallet was mostly influenced by Africa slaves, who contributed a considerable culinary and ethnic contributions to the flavors of the islands. Alongside French culinary customs brought by colonists fleeing uprisings in Haiti.

Recovery Centers of America New Expansion at Devon

Philadelphia, PAKristen Hayes - Every day, at least ten Pennsylvanians die of opioid or heroin overdose. A life-saving drug is available that can be administered by bystanders or a loved one to reverse a deadly overdose. Recovery Centers of America (RCA) at Devon, located just outside of Philadelphia, is hosting an Open House event to celebrate its new expansion and RCA nurses will be providing training to the public that could help save lives.

Philadelphia, PALeSaint Chocolate to Support Breast Cancer - In recognition of October Breast Cancer Awareness month, LeSaint French Chocolate is teaming up alongside Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a charity dedicated to linking women affected by breast cancer with important reliable information and a great community of support, by revealing a hand-crafted, hand painted decadent pink chocolate collection developed by Bucks County, PA artist chocolatier Stéphane Lesaint. As a vital part of the October project, LeSaint will contribute 20% of the profits to the non-profit charity.

I love having the opportunity to work with local businesses whose products I’m passionate about on projects that encourage others to support local and share great food and drink! I was fortunate enough to score an invitation to a beautifully orchestrated dinner on Sunday night at Bottle Room where Chef Tim composed four courses highlighting four different styles of Dressler Estate’s hard cider.
