Pat’s King of Steaks to Benefit Alex’s Lemonade

PhillyBite10South Philadlephia, June 8, 2016 - In an effort to join the fight against childhood cancer, Pat’s King of Steaks Guest Chef Series will feature Master Mixologist Owen Rothstein’s lemon-inspired sandwich to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation on Thursday, June 9 from 11 AM – 4 PM. The event will also feature a lemonade stand hosted by the local Ventresca family.

Restaurant Pesto in Philadelphia Win's Little Italy Showdown (Nov 4, 2015) - South Philly's own Pesto Ristorante took first prize on the 'Rachael Ray' "Little Italy Showdown" which aired on Monday, Oct 26. John Varallo and his daughter Maria took the top prize with their cavatelli topped with lobster, crab, and shrimp and served in a rose blush sauce dish.

South Philly Live! Casino Gets Zoning Approval

 The Philadelphia City Council today unanimously approved the zoning for Stadium Casino, LLC's new destination hotel casino resort in Philadelphia's Stadium District. The zoning was previously approved by the City Council Rules Committee in a unanimous vote of 8-0 and the City Council today approved the zoning 14-0.

Philadelphia Breaks World’s Largest Cheesesteak Record

PhillyBite10 Philadelphia, PA - Philadelphia's Steve’s Prince of Steaks and Amoroso’s Bakery broke the record for the world’s largest cheesesteak, with their 480 feet long cheesestake. Their cheeseskate broke the previous record of 426 feet, which was set in 2011 by Frankie and Deb Santos in Tucson, Ariz. The event will take place at Lincoln financial field during the Philly's first ever festival honoring the famed sandwich.
