This spot, clearly a labor of love and over a year in the making, is serious about serving up a top-tier Philly cheesesteak.

John's Water Ice Opens New Location with Angelina's Pizza

Philadelphia, PA - Spring in Philadelphia means many things: warmer weather, blooming flowers, and the return of a beloved local tradition – John's Water Ice. This year, the iconic water ice purveyor, a third-generation family business, is kicking off its season with a brand new location in South Philly, and they're bringing some delicious company. The new John's Water Ice, located at 2700 South 7th Street (near the intersection of 7th and Oregon), will open alongside Angelina's Pizza, a new Italian eatery offering pizza, pasta, and wings.

Grace and Proper Opening in South Philadelphia

I'd heard the buzz about this place – it's the latest venture from Chris Fetfatzes and Heather Annechiarico, the masterminds behind some of my favorite Philly spots like Hawthorne's Beer Cafe, Wine Dive, Pivot Coffee and Soupery, The Cambridge, Tio Flores, and Quick Sip. They teamed up with Jon Medlinsky from Kensington's Martha, so my expectations were high, to say the least.
