PENNSYLVANIA - NBA legend and Philadelphia 76ers icon Charles Barkley is officially returning to the Philly area with a new venture. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia announced today a major partnership with the Hall of Famer to create a brand-new, signature steakhouse and a separate cigar lounge at the Boyd Gaming-owned property.
PENNSYLVANIA - NBA legend and Philadelphia 76ers icon Charles Barkley is officially returning to the Philly area with a new venture. Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia announced today a major partnership with the Hall of Famer to create a brand-new, signature steakhouse and a separate cigar lounge at the Boyd Gaming-owned property.The move marks a homecoming for Barkley, who was a beloved power forward for the 76ers from 1984 to 1992 and has since become an internationally renowned NBA analyst on Inside the NBA.
“The Philadelphia area has always felt like home to me, and I’m thrilled to bring something new to a community that’s played such a big part in my life,” said Charles Barkley. “We’re creating a spot that’s fun, comfortable, and full of personality. I want it to be the kind of place where people can unwind, share a great meal and feel that same energy and connection that make this community so special.”
A New Steakhouse and Luxurious Cigar Lounge
According to the announcement, the new steakhouse will fuse contemporary elegance with Barkley's "unmistakable character." The space will feature personal memorabilia and design elements that celebrate his storied career and deep ties to the greater Philadelphia region.
Adjacent to the steakhouse, the Humidor cigar lounge will be built to evoke a luxurious, club-like atmosphere. The centerpiece will be a walk-in humidor, complemented by a dedicated bar and private lockers.
“Charles Barkley’s personality, charisma and love for Philadelphia make him an incredible partner, and we are incredibly honored to have the opportunity to bring his vision to life at Valley Forge Casino Resort,” said Martha Morales, Vice President and General Manager of the resort.
A Multi-Faceted Partnership
This new venture is more than just a name on a building. Barkley will be playing an active role in shaping the restaurant’s menu and overall vision.
The partnership also extends to Barkley's signature liquor brand, Redmont Distilling Co. Boyd Gaming has entered a national agreement to feature spirits from the brand across all of its properties nationwide.
As part of the collaboration, Boyd Gaming will also make an annual contribution to The Charles Barkley Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting education and historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
The new steakhouse and lounge will mark the next phase in Valley Forge Casino Resort’s multi-year transformation, which includes new dining options, entertainment upgrades, and a modernization of the property’s casino floor.
