Philadelphia, PA - The City of Philadelphia launched a social media campaign to cheer on the NFC Champions Eagles on their bid in Super Bowl LII. Now through Super Bowl Sunday, February 4, the City and its departments will show Eagles love and Philadelphia pride with the #FlyPhillyFly hashtag on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
“The Eagles’ road to the Super Bowl and their close-knit bond reflects the Philadelphia story: our City’s grit and our spirit of brotherly love,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “This weekend is a fantastic opportunity to check out all the City has to offer – our many restaurants, our cultural attractions, and even opportunities to give back. Go Birds!”
The campaign kicked off on Snapchat Tuesday, with Mayor Kenney giving Philadelphians a glimpse of his good luck rituals. The video clips can be viewed on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.
As a part of the campaign, City departments are highlighting the many ways they show Eagles and Philly pride. So far, PhillyCityRep, CreativePHL, StartupPHL, the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, and the Office of Emergency Management have all been part of the #FlyPhillyFly social media campaign. All Philadelphians are invited to join the campaign and share what makes Philadelphia and the Eagles so awesome!
“Super Bowl LII is an incredibly exciting time for our Philadelphia sports fans of all ages — and worldwide — to celebrate our beloved Eagles,” said Sheila Hess, City Representative. “With the team and management already in Minneapolis for the big game, we want to send them some brotherly and sisterly love from home, as we cheer on our team and great city as the Eagles step into the international spotlight.”
The #FlyPhillyFly campaign celebrates the assets and attractions that make the city unique. And with VisitPhilly and the PHLCVB, the City encourages Eagles fans and revelers to use the hashtag #EaglesDeals to find special deals to celebrate the Super Bowl!
