Philadelphia, PAVerti Transphobic Tweet - Chef Marc Vetri has found himself in hot water on Monday after the famed Chef tweeted in reply to Danya Henninger a reporter for BillyPenn.com  "He can go f*** himself!"

Chef Marc Vetri Twitter Controversy

The comment was to an initial tweet about Health Secretary Rachel Levine, a transgender woman.

The tweet came after an announcement that Pennsylvania Restaurants and bars will not be permitted to sell beer, wine, and liquor on-premises on Thanksgiving Eve.

Vetri immediately denied his tweet was about Levine, explaining it was directed towards Governor Tom Wolf. However, the initial tweet clearly stated Levine's name in a post.

It should be noted that Vetri has been at odds with the state and city over COVID-19 restrictions damage to the restaurant community.

This led to a firestorm of tweets and comments on social media; many accused the Vetri of being transphobic towards the Health Secretary.

Verti Tweet Livine

Vetri has stated several times since he made a mistake, and the response was meant for Pennsylvania's Governor Wolf.

The Chef has also reached out to Levine and apologized for the mistake and has asked if there is anything he can do to support the transgender community.

It should be noted that Vetri's has been very supportive of the LGBTQ community in the past.
