Philadelphia, PAPhilly Gyms - The Philadelphia Fitness Coalition has gathered more than 1,500 signatures asking the city officials to allow Philly gyms to reopen.


 

Philadelphia Gym Owners Protest

With rising COVID-19 cases on the rise, the city shut down gyms operating indoors last week and several other indoor use businesses.

The Coalition demonstrated outside of City Hall, declaring the new restrictions is unfair to gym owners.

The Coalition was asking for a meeting with Mayor Jim Kenney to discuss why the health and wellness industry should remain open. They are also arguing that hat significant safety precautions have already been put in place.



The group is even willing to consider even stricter guidelines and safety protocols if gyms can remain open.

Philadelphia Pandemic Restrictions

Since the start of the pandemic, Philadelphia has recorded nearly 60,000 positive coronavirus cases. More than 2,000 people in Philadelphia have died from the virus since March.
