As you walk in off the streets of the homely small town streets of West Chester and into the Saloon you’ll quickly get the feeling you’ve transported out west, minus the horses and cowboys of course. I stopped in on a cold January night and was happy to find a beverage that typically wouldn’t be on the menu in most college bars, a warm whiskey cider. Still trying to shiver away the residual cold I sipped my cider and was not let down; warm, spicy and of course boozy *smiles*. The bartender was friendly and we chatted for a minute about the bar scene and what to expect when the University starts back up. A typical night you can usually find a seat until about 12pm when the students start to stumble in.

After checking over the menu I plan on returning for dinner and to check out one of their happy hours (Monday- Friday) for a $3 Craft Draft. I was also informed that during the Summer they offer outdoor seating right along Gay St. where you can enjoy a beverage, a special order of saloon fries, slow-cooked brisket and watch the active town pass you by. Over all it’s definitely a spot worth checking out if you enjoy live music, whiskey and a nice cozy seat at the bar.
