Philadelphia, PAEating Cheesesteaks in Coatesville and Pomeroy - Two delicious cheesesteaks in a one-horse town. Pomeroy, Stottsville, or Coatesville, I’m not sure exactly where, but out in God’s country on one side of the street, you have P.J.’s Deli and on the other side of the road is Stottsville Inn. Each has its own distinct and unique Cheesesteak.

Eating Cheesesteaks in Coatesville and Pomeroy

Stottsville Inn is a recently restored historic Inn with a Braised Short Rib cheesesteak. P.J.’s Deli is your typical small Deli where everyone eventually stops in. If Frannie has the ingredients in stock and you ask nicely, I am sure she will make you whatever you like. Ask for the Cheesesteak because she makes a good one.

Stottsville Inn

3512 Strasburg Rd, Coatesville, PA. Scored 90/100.

Romantic Cheesesteak Getaway Weekend Destination. 977th different Cheesesteak in the last four years. This Cheesesteak is a good roll away from being a top cheesesteak. The Inn Cheesesteak comes on a seeded roll. It is braised short rib, horseradish sauce, and cheddar cheese. Aside from a significant roll breakout, I think this roll is too average for this Cheesesteak. The braised short rib was plentiful, juicy, and flavorful. The horseradish sauce added great flavor. The cheddar was almost non-existent. I think three generations of a family work at the Stottsville Inn. I have very strong feelings for the Stottsville Inn.

PJ's Deli

1992 Valley Rd, Pomeroy, PA. Grilled Cheese Cheesesteak scored - 90/100, Deep Fried Cheesesteak scored 89/100.

Different Cheesesteaks #927 & 928.   Special Guest Eater Brian Marranzini was having so much fun we got more cheesesteaks and went back to his house. P.J.’s Deli was on my Go-to list. This is a great country/small town deli. I am guessing Casey and Frannie know everyone in town. They have locally made goodies on the counter. Frannie was nice enough to go off the menu and make us a Grilled Cheese Cheesesteak. It was delicious and had a nice balance of flavors.

On the other hand, maybe I would have liked more meat?? We also got a (3 for $10.50) deep-fried Cheesesteak. They wrap the deep-fried cheesesteaks at P.J.’s. We call it an egg roll in the video, but it was more deep-fried Cheesesteak than an egg roll. The meat and cheese had a nice flavor and balance. A nice little twist with the dipping sauce.
