PENNSYLVANIA - Philadelphia is known for its passionate crowds, but on Saturday, November 14, 2026, the city is aiming to channel that energy into a highly unusual world record.
Philadelphia is Attempting to Break a Wild World Record with 1,200 People Dressed as Pickles
The Big Dill®, known as The World's Largest Pickle Party®, is taking over Stateside Live! in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. To celebrate National Pickle Day falling on a rare Saturday, organizers are hosting "The Parade of the Pickles" in an attempt to set the official record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Pickles in History.
Breaking the Record The current published record for a gathering of people dressed as fruits or vegetables is 888, set in Japan in 2017. The Big Dill intends to shatter that mark using only pickle costumes. The first 1,200 ticket buyers will receive an official, individually numbered pickle suit provided by Imposta Costumes to ensure the count can be independently verified.
A Full-Blown Pickle Party "This isn't a festival where you walk around with a paper plate. It's a party," says Kevin Baxter, co-founder of The Big Dill. The entertainment lineup is massive and delightfully bizarre. Attendees can expect:
- The Pickle RAVE: A massive dance party led by DJ Jay Roy.
- Wild Attractions: Guests can ride a mechanical pickle, take photos with "Big Brine" (a 25-foot inflatable pickle jar), and get their pickles blessed by TikTok's famous "Pickle Priest."
- Live Entertainment: The South Philly String Band will bring traditional Mummers flair to the event, performing alongside country music act Shot of Southern and the World Pickle Eating Championship.
