Philly CheesesteaksPhiladelphia, PA - My Cousin Steve was visiting, so I grabbed four cheesesteaks and met Amigo Dan, Cousin Steve, Patti, and an undisclosed location. Cousin Steve only likes fried onions and peppers on his cheesesteaks, so that is what we got.

The Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure's Day of Cheesesteaks

I am working on a triple double-secret project and needed cheesesteaks from the Route 30/Lancaster ave/Lincoln Highway'ish corridor, so I got a cheesesteak from; 1. Gladwyne Market. 2. Vito's Pizza. 3. Philly Cheesesteaks and 4. Anthony's Pizza & Italian Restaurant.

Haven ate 750 different cheesesteaks, I am still surprised at how different a roll, meat, and cheese can be.

The Gladwyne Market cheesesteak traveled the furthest, and it shows in its full cheesesteak picture. But, we liked it the best. The Balance of ingredients and getting them to work together is essential in making a great cheesesteak. We had four of the same cheesesteak on paper, but they were noticeably different looking, tasting, and feeling in reality. The Gladwyne Market cheesesteak had all its ingredients working well together. We got it on a seeded roll. They cut their meat a little thicker, and it looked more like a tear than a chop.

Anthony's Cheesesteak was delicious and well balanced. His meat was a finer slice and chop then Gladwyne's. Anthony had a fair amount of cheese, and it was melted through the cheesesteak very well. Gladwyne nudged him by a slice of meat.

Philly Cheesesteaks were braggadocious. It was trying to make a loud statement. Again very good. Their fried onions and peppers were larger pieces and trying to stand out. In the pictures, you will see that it definitely has some color.

Vito's Pizza cheesesteak was just a little off. It happens. A great little place run by great people. The pictures I see online look great. Our cheesesteak was a little dry.
