- Folks who are homesick for Philadelphia can enjoy a free classic Philly snack this week, thanks to a partnership between VISIT PHILADELPHIA and Philly Pretzel Factory. On Wednesday, December 19 at more than 75 stores from Texas to Massachusetts, Philly Pretzel Factory will give one free soft pretzel to in-store customers who say they are “homesick for Philly.” Part of VISIT PHILADELPHIA’s Homesick Philly campaign, the “Homesick for the Holidays” giveaway is happening at nationwide stores at least 40 miles outside the city.
“Our research shows us that homesick Philadelphians crave iconic Philly foods,” said Jeff Guaracino, president and CEO of VISIT PHILADELPHIA. “We’re excited to team up with Philly Pretzel Factory to give people a free taste of Philly this holiday season while reminding them of their Philadelphia ties and encouraging them to visit—and revisit—the city they love.”
Launched in June 2018, Homesick Philly is a nostalgia marketing initiative that invites former residents and students back to the region to reconnect with and rediscover the neighborhoods, food, arts, culture, history and sports they adored when they lived, worked or went to school here.
