Foods on First Diner,Philadelphia, PA - So I had a meeting in New Jersey, and I was cutting across Center City to get to my second meeting in Upper Darby. The only thing I like about COVID-19 is no traffic in the city.

Foods on First Diner, Philadelphia, PA.

A long time ago, I picked up a rider by 15th and Arch. She was a child advocate attorney and said that she always stopped at Foods on First whenever she was in Center City for family court.

Suppose you aren't familiar with the city. In that case, 15th and Arch is just a lot of commotion because it's the intersection of people trying to get into Center City and people trying to get out of Center City.

I made a mental note of Foods on First but thought because of the traffic, I would never get there. Who knew covid-19 would come along, and I was going to be driving through Center City at lunchtime?

I was surprised when I saw Google Maps has Foods on First listed as a diner because I remembered it having a pizza shop feel. Still, now I remember that someone ordered pancakes to go at lunchtime. I ordered the mega Cheesesteak. I took it to my car and had a trunk picnic on 16th Street.

This Cheesesteak had some good weight to it. This was a very wet Cheesesteak, and I could tell we would have a rolling problem. There was a fair amount of good meat. It was a little thicker slice so you could really taste the meat.

The cheese is almost non-existent. What really made this Cheesesteak was the extras. I got the sweet peppers versus the hot.

The extras spent a perfect amount of time on the grill getting to know each other and mixing their flavors together very well. The cheese and a roll that can handle the moisture, and this is a delicious cheesesteak. Oh yes, major roll blow-out.
